Skew the Future
Skew the Future is a civic stewardship project from rural Texas.
It is part writing desk, part public record shelf, part framework shop, and part front porch conversation.
The goal is to help turn concern into useful public work.
This is the front door for the work being built here.
That means asking better questions, building clearer records, creating practical tools, and helping regular people take part in decisions that shape their communities.
Skew the Future starts with a simple idea:
The future is shaped by what people are willing to notice, record, question, build, and share.
What Skew the Future is for
Skew the Future is built for civic work that needs a home.
- Some of that work will be local.
- Some of it will be rural.
- Some of it will be political.
- Some of it will be public records, policy, storytelling, organizing, or practical problem solving.
The common thread is stewardship.
We inherit communities, roads, water, records, public offices, local habits, family stories, and unfinished work. Then we decide what to do with them.
Skew the Future is about doing something useful with them.

Not every post will be Texas Resource Stewardship.
Not every resource will be about data centers, water, roads, or county policy.
But the work should point in the same general direction:
More clarity. Better records. Stronger standards. More useful civic participation.

Texas Resource Stewardship is one of the first major projects hosted by Skew the Future.
It is a practical framework for rural Texas communities facing large-impact development, including data centers, battery energy storage systems, solar projects, industrial water users, and similar projects.
Texas Resource Stewardship focuses on responsible growth, public trust, clear records, and shared standards before major projects reshape local life.
It includes the Good Neighbor Policy, large-impact project review tools, county implementation guidance, public records resources, and a growing Resource Library.
Skew the Future is the home.
